Birthday Girl Katrina Kaif

The birthday girl Katrina Kaif has come a long way to mark her presence in this starry world of Bollywood. As in recent times when we all are so much into the nepotism controversy, let’s turn our eyes back on the gorgeous beauty and the self-made Bollywood star Katrina Kaif. We do keep on slamming directors and producers on their act of favoritism in the Bollywood industry, but, we are equally to be blamed for overlooking talents from outside, and in this case, if the talent is extremely beautiful.

Katrina Kaif’s Early Life

Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong to Indian Kashmiri Father, Mohammad Kaif, and English mother Suzzane Turqotte. After her parent’s separation, Katrina with her mother moved to many countries and stayed there for shorter spans. Her childhood was all into traveling East European countries from one place to another until her mother decided to settle down in her own home country England.

She started her modeling career at the age of 14 and continued with modeling assignments in London itself. Kaizad Gustad was the one who spotted her and offered, her first break in Bollywood with the movie ‘Boom‘. Her first movie turned out to be a big disaster. Due to her poor start in Bollywood and weak command in Hindi, she was typecast as a model turned poor actor and was accepted only for her beauty.

But this bold and fearless beauty was adamant in fulfilling all her dreams in Bollywood itself. With her flourishing modeling career in Mumbai, her urge to become a superstar did not subside. Tasting the bitterness of failure in her very first bite made her more determined to work on herself to be accepted by this industry. She started getting coached on Hindi and also began her dance training in Kathak. In Bollywood, she was then cast in movies like Sarkaar and Maine Pyar Kyu Kiya

Her association with movies of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar brought her into the track and gained her all the limelight.

The Cupid Attack on Birthday Girl Katrina Kaif

Her link-up with Salman Khan was a piece of big news in early 2000. She herself admitted, Salman khan has mentored her in choosing her new projects in her initial days in Bollywood. She also added not only Salman, Sajid Nadiadwala, and David Dhawan also assisted and advised her in her starting career.

We do understand why Salman holds such a special place in Katrina’s heart… Just mentorship??? We just wish things could have been another way around…

Salman and Katrina were always in news for their assumed link-ups, but they never came up and cleared anything. All this air went off when the news of Katrina and Ranbir Kapoor’s relationship broke out. This was another turn in Katrina’s love life when she dated the star, Ranbir Kapoor. This relationship went off after 6 long years and then they broke up. Their break up was another talk of the town, after a long break she came up and spoke about her relationship with Ranbir and their breakup.

Her calmness and self-respect were her weapons to overcome her break up. Both of them are now in their own happy places.

But there is something different and indescribable between Salman and Katrina. We wonder what it is as they will never come up and say. They share a unique bond of trust, understanding, support, respect for each other, friendship, wellwishers, and whatnot. Whatever it is we totally adore them together.

Even though Katrina was earning fame and almost all her films were doing well in the box office after she entered the club of Salman and Akshay, she was only considered as eye candy and attractive prop in the films.

Journey Of An Outsider To Become A Star

But, this daring angel never turned her back she continued to work hard to make a solid place in Bollywood. Steadily all her efforts paid off well, her career along with her acting skill took a graph high. The birthday girl Katrina Kaif is now amongst the top highest-paid actress in Bollywood.

Let’s check out the movies that turned her game on in Bollywood.

  1. New York: In 2009 Kabir Khan’s movie New York was released with John, Katrina, and Neel Nitin Mukesh in the lead cast. Katrina played the role of a college girl turned into the wife of her best friend who got arrested as a suspect in the 9/11 case. Katrina portrayed very well both the roles, the carefree bubbly college girl, and the helpless, vulnerable, strong-headed women in the second half of the movie. The movie was well appreciated and Katrina came out as a surprise.
  2. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani: In the same year, Katrina’s another release opposite Ranbir Kapoor was a superhit success. She played the role of a girl next door, her innocence, comic timing, subtle acting was just what the movie needed. This rom-com was a huge success where Katrina showcased her on-time comedy skills along with her graceful acting. Even the new pairing of Katrina and Ranbir was highly loved by the audience.
  3. Rajneeti: Another good performance by Katrina was in the movie Rajneeti released in 2010. The change in her character from a simple girl to a woman taking charge of the entire political empire was simply commendable. The maturity in her character reflected the maturity of her acting she gained over the days of hard work and commitment.
  4. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara: We all know the movie was all about the three best friends reunion trip and we love it. Katrina played a small yet powerful part of the movie. She brought the freshness and liveliness that the movie demanded. She completely justified her character, Laila with grace, and full of life enthusiasm. We can deny no one can ever play Laila any better than Katrina herself.
  5. Ek Tha Tiger: Another blockbuster hit in the year 2012 by Kabir Khan, starring Katrina and Salman. She played the character of Zoya the ISI agent who falls in love with the Indian Raw Agent Tiger. She delivered well the character of an ISI agent who goes to any extent for her country with all her toughness and tremendous stunts hiding her inner mellowness and affection which was later explored by Tiger.
  6. Zero: The movie starring Sharukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif released in 2018 was a big fail in box office, despite the star cast. But Katrina Kaif’s acting as Babita Kumari turned out to be the only takeaway from the movie. To date, it is considered one of her best performances. She appears in a very small part, but she imprints her mark in the movie. She portrayed very well the darker side of the world of fame of a diva who is sad, vulnerable, messed up, and in search of true compassion. She was incredibly good in this movie.
  7. Bharat: 2019 released movie Bharat starring Salman and Katrina again marked a brilliant performance by Katrina. She played the role of ‘Kumud‘ who was fiery and feisty. Katrina did proper justice to her character Kumud, who was way ahead of her time. She was confident, outspoken, carefree, cheerful, bold, and fearless. The best part of the movie is her chemistry with Salman, it is just so natural and effortless.
