Rising global covid numbers due to the omicron variant postpone another crucial meeting. Currently, a new deadly variant of covid named Omicron is been circulating around the world at a rapid pace.
With Omicron already being detected and transmitted in 89 countries. It is because of this new variant that the number of new covid cases have been heavily registered in Britain and Europe.
With such uncertain conditions looming around many countries are planning to announce a lockdown. Following the last year, many important international conferences have already been disrupted, postponed, and completely cancelled due to the Omicron effect.

Following this pattern, The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos has been postponed and is under continued uncertainty based on the spread of the Omicron variant.
The World Economic Forum on Monday gave out a statement that it was for now postponing the meeting due to concerns and threats from the Omicron variant.
As per the new schedule, the annual World Economic Forum meeting is scheduled for January 17-21 next year in the same location that is in Davos-Cloisters, Switzerland. This meeting is expected to take in early summer.
The WEF said in a statement that despite the World Economic Forum’s strict and vigilant health protocols for their said meetings. The Forum meetings were postponed due to the high prevalence and spread of the Omicron variant.
Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the WEF said that governments worldwide and private companies, and other stakeholders were working together in coordination to fight against the new variant of the covid.
With countries putting up an all out fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. It is also learned that the WTO Ministerial (MC12) which is to be held in Geneva has been postponed due to Omicron’s scare.
