The UK has backtracked on the requirement that travelers from India to Britain must remain on quarantine even if they have taken two doses of the covid-19 vaccine.
India has been added to the list of countries eligible for the vaccine. According to the latest regulations, quarantine is not mandatory for Indian travelers arriving in the UK from October 11 if they have taken the full dose of the covid-19 vaccine either covishield or covaxin whichever is approved by the United Kingdom.
The UK has added 37 countries, including India and Pakistan, to its list of countries eligible for traveling after vaccination.
Eligible travelers (those who have completed vaccination doses) from these countries are considered on an equal footing with UK citizens who have completed vaccination. These travelers must not have visited the countries on the Red List announced by the UK ten days prior to their trip to Britain.

Also, the prescribed vaccine doses must be completed at least 14 days before travel. They are exempt from the quarantine as well as the mandatory tests performed on the foot in the UK.
The UK High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Alex, said the UK would recognize Indian vaccine certification from October 11 and that the decision was taken after discussions between the two countries’ ministries. He thanked the Government of India for cooperating on this issue for months.
Earlier last month the UK announced Covishield was not recognized in the country for Indian travelers considering the vast majority of the country is vaccinated with this covid-19 vaccine it was a tight bag for travelers. It stated they had an issue with the certificate, not the vaccine, but now it has relaxed the conditions and is happy to receive Indian travelers onboard without any quarantine rules.
