Recently, Twitter made a huge donation to support India to tackle down the covid-19 situation. Twitter CEO Jack Patrick Dorsey said on Twitter that he was donating about 15 million US Dollars i.e., approximately Rs 110 crore to India.
He has made a donation to three NGOs working to combat the Covid-19 pandemic in India. The CEO of the micro-blogging platform took to Twitter on Monday stating the donation was made to three non-governmental organizations: CARE, Aid India, and Seva International USA. $ 10 million to CARE, $ 2.5 million to Aid India and the remaining were donated to the Seva International USA. The donations will provide oxygen cylinders, concentrators, ventilators, and other medical facilities to India.
Sewa International is a non-profit and Hindu-based organization. In a statement, the San Francisco-based company said that this grant supports the acquisition of lifesaving pieces of equipment including concentrators oxygen, BiPAP, and CPAP machines will be supplied to India as a part of the Sewa Internationals Covid-19 donation campaign.
In relation to the announcement, Sandeep Khadkekar, Vice President of Marketing & Fund Development of Sewa International, thanked Dorsey for his generous donation.
The Houston headquartered Sewa International USA has so far collected 17.5 million US Dollars for India’s covid-19 relief.
Help has been flowing from the UK, USA, Singapore, and almost all the other countries in the world already but the raging beast of a virus is yet to be tamed.
