On November 21, the doctor went on a corona test due to reported fever and the test resulted in a covid positive after which he was hospitalized immediately and discharged after three days.
DNA samples collected from the doctor were promptly sent on the same to analyze the genome sequencing that finally turned out to be the deadly omicron covid variant. The Omicron variant has now been declared as a variant of concern by WHO.
In the doctor’s case, three of the people who were in contact with him were confirmed for Covid positive along with secondary contacts.
