Shi Zhengli, popularly known as China’s Batwoman, one of the most important and prominent researchers, has broken the silence for the first time since the Covid-19 spread.
Suspects of coronavirus being leaked from Wuhan’s Virology Lab are getting stronger day by day.
The former American President Donal Trump constantly accused China of releasing the virus into the world. With the United States producing various proofs and documents against China for conspiring bioterrorism, many countries and world-renowned researchers are demanding a transparent investigation against China.
The Chinese government has been claiming that the virus did not leak from the lab from the beginning, but no country is in the state to believe the dragon nation.
Shi Zhengli has never spoken to any media before, clarifying anything about the issue, but she had now reportedly spoken to the New York Times via e-mail.
“The fact is that the virus did not leak from the Wuhan lab. How can anyone show evidence that there is no evidence on this earth? ” She asked. “Why is the world blaming innocent scientists?” Said Xi Zhengli.
Shi Zhengli, the primary bat coronavirus researcher at Wuhan Institute of Virology, had come forward defending her institute in the face of demand for an investigation into the origin of the coronavirus disease.
Many allegations were and are being made on China, including a strong theory that it was leaked from a Wuhan Institute of Virology lab. She claimed there is no evidence and condemned the venom thrown “on an innocent scientist.”
In a March 2020 article in Scientific American, Shi stated that the genetic code of the virus that causes Covid-19 did not match any of her lab’s samples.
America made allegations that in November 2019, three Wuhan scientists were hospitalized due to serious illness, which was secretly guarded by China and stated it was covid-19.
But Shi Zhengli denied this allegation; Shi said that the workers fell sick due to a fungal infection in a paper. The scientist further added that 13 serum samples of four patients have been re-tested and found no traces of COVID-19 infection.
She also informed the World Health Organization (WHO) team, which was visiting China to investigate the origin of Covid-19, that all workers had tested negative for Covid-19 antibodies.
The Wuhan Institute of Virology was inaugurated in 2018; it is Asia’s first P4 laboratory. The institute studies some of the world’s most dangerous diseases and had before conducted numerous investigations on the linkages between bats and outbreaks in China.
