America and Canada are facing one of the worst situations ever. Both the countries have become Sahara desert people are wondering whether they are in America or Arab.

People are getting tired of not being able to tolerate the heat. The National Weather Service reports that the sun is scorching the cities of Portland, Oregon, Salem, and Seattle. The heat in these cities is becoming unbearable day by day.

Temperatures of 43 to 46 degrees were recorded. Emergencies exits have been created in western America, and there are chances that North America would face the same situation too.

The U.S. National Weather Service has issued warnings not to leave Air Conditioned rooms unless absolutely necessary. It has recommended to drink plenty of water and take care not to get sunburn. Blackouts are occurring as electricity consumption increases in many parts of America.

More than a dozen deaths have been reported in Washington, Oregon, due to the heat. Six hundred hectares of forest have been burned by wildfires along the California-Oregon border.

Wildfires in California were common during this time of the year, but this year it was not one state but half of the country.

Canada is no exception either; the vast land that lies in the northern hemisphere of America broke the 84-year-old record. British Columbia, Canada, recorded a record high of 49.5 degrees Celsius.

Especially on Tuesday, Canada broke the record of all time. Temperatures in Oregon were recorded higher than in the heart of the Nevada desert or in Las Vegas. And this is the only place in Canada that has a usually temperate climate at this time of year.

More than 200 people have been killed in the past four-and-a-half days in the Vancouver area due to the unbearable heat. This is the first time in 84 years that temperatures have reached this level in Canada.

The Canadian Meteorological Department has warned that temperatures will continue for another week in parts of northwestern British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon.

JK Hasfother, an ecologist from Berkeley Earth, said the sun was burning from California in the U.S. to parts of the Arctic in Canada as a result of the extreme heat caused by climate change in the Pacific Ocean.

He believes that the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean has warmed up to an average of 1.7 degrees Celsius over the past 50 years, so the sun is burning at this level.

The heat phenomenon is termed a “heat dome.” which is causing unbearable heat. Heat air is caught at high pressures and heats up even more when it is repressed to the ground.

“It’s like a bicycle pump,” said Philip Mote, Oregon State University professor of atmospheric science. “The air heats up if you push the air to a motorcycle tire.”

The weather expert has pointed that the effects were due to extreme heat waves of rising temperatures. Climate change is the reason for all the natural disasters happening all around the world.

The average U.S. temperature has risen since the end of the 19th century, according to a 2017 NOAA survey.

Scientists anticipate additional days of the severe heatwave in the coming decades.

Apart from the United States, the heat records broke this week in cities so far North as the Arctic Circle.
