After a decade of wait finally, Ram Mandir foundation stone will be laid on August 5. Swami Govind Dev Giri, the treasurer of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, formed to aid the construction of Ram Mandir at the Birth Place of Lord Rama, invited the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend Bhoomi pujan.
Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan Ceremony
There will be an ornate preparation of a three-day ritual for this foundation program, which will start on August 3. The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust have stated, all these Vedic rituals and program will be done keeping in mind the COVID-19 pandemic situation and maintaining proper social distancing measures. As per the program, there will be only 200 people in the event with 150 invitees at the stone-laying foundation ceremony.
A team of 11 priests from Ayodha and Varanasi will perform the entire three days rituals considering all the COVID-19 precautionary norms.
The Bhoomi Pujan ritual will begin on August 3, with a special puja offering to Lord Ganesha, as in Hindu Dharma it is considered auspicious to start any propitious ceremony by worshiping Lord Ganesha. On August 4, the team of eleven priests will perform the Ramacharya Puja. On the next day August 5, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the stone-laying service which will be at around 12.15 PM considering the auspicious time in accordance with the Hindu calendar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted the invitation for the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ ceremony and will be there on August 5, for 2 hours. He will inaugurate the ceremony first by offering prayer and devotion to Lord Rama at the temple and Lord Hanuman at Hanuman Garhi Temple in Ayodha. After the prayers and rituals, he will perform the stone-laying foundation service for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ram Janmabhoomi. Swami Govind Dev Giri, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra stated Chief Ministers from all different states have also been invited to be a part of this auspicious ceremony.
During the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony, a silver slab, weighing about 40 kilograms, will be placed in the holy place Sanctorum of the proposed magnificent Ram temple in Ayodhya.
PM Narendra Modi’s Presence Vital In Foundation Ceremony
The Treasurer of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Swami Govindgiri Maharaj insisted Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji be physically present in this much-awaited auspicious ceremony of stone laying foundation of Ram Mandir. PM Narendra Modi initially wanted to be a part of the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony online considering the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Swami Govindgiri Maharaj assured the entire ceremony will be performed maintaining strict precautionary guidelines of COVID-19, but the physical presence of PM Narendra Modi Ji is very much demanded.
He also added this ceremonial celebration would be a morale boost for all the people at this time of pandemic to build mental strength to fight against this virus. The trustee also clarified this ceremony would have been performed long back but was stuck due to the pandemic crises. Now, they decided as they don’t see any certain dates for this pandemic to end, they would perform this ceremony in August itself with all the precautionary guidelines taken into account.
Supreme Court Verdict: The Long Disputed Land under Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust
After the supreme court verdict, the 2.77 acres of land has been handed over to trust for the construction of Ram Temple. The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was thus formed to facilitate the building of the Ram Mandir. The trust is propelled to have a nationwide fund collection having 10 crore families across India for financial funding. The estimated cost of the Ram Mandir is around 300 crores but it would require way more investment to built in the wide acre temple premises. The temple proposed height is 169 feet with five domes aside.
NCP Lead Sharad Pawar Opposes: Not The Correct Time For Ram Mandir Foundation
The National Congress Party Lead Sharad Pawar criticized the celebration of Stone Laying Foundation for Ram Mandir in this crisis moment, where the nation is boggling with the COVID-19 situation. He stated, as per the current status of the country, India needs to strengthen its battle against this pandemic rather than building Temple. On his response, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) said, the government is doing its best to combat this pandemic situation and conducting best efforts to revive the economic condition of the country. They also added we cannot put the countries advancement on hold for an indefinite period, everything important will be actioned with proper measures and guidelines.
