Omicron Scares New Year Celebrations

All around the world, Omicron is acting as an active threat to new year celebrations and excitements. Every year people wish each other a new year and celebrate the welcoming of the new year by inviting friends, relatives, and people from all over the globe. 

But this year, due to the fears of the omicron variant many people are having a simple new year celebration this season with a very limited invitation to guests. But as we step into the new year many people around the world are hoping that the new year will bring a full stop to the corona pandemic menace. 

Omicron Scares New Year Celebrations

Prior to the fast-paced transmission of the omicron variant and its subsequent eruption of new related covid cases, New year celebrations were planned and were about to be held in many countries worldwide.

As a result of this simple celebration trend, the bell ringing festival in South Korea has been cancelled for the second year in a row. Authorities and various government bodies have strictly ordered the closure of several beaches and all tourism areas and spots. 

It can be expected that in a high percentage of places and events crowds will appear in very small numbers due to the restrictions and the coronavirus scare. An estimate of around ten million people have flocked to Sydney for the new year celebrations. 

Currently, a few number of people and tourists have arrived in Indonesia, as the government has banned the New year’s celebrations in the country along with night curfew continuing in many places.

Omicron Scares New Year Celebrations

 Following this trend, Vietnam has also banned its new year celebrations. In Hong Kong, only 3000 people can now attend concerts and live shows. 

But in some countries like Thailand, the situation is completely different as there is no such complete ban on celebrations. However covid related restrictions and guidelines will continue to remain in action.
