Ola that provides online cab booking services, is now venturing into a different business domain.
Ola is now offering door to door fresh grocery delivery service. In a pilot project, the company plans to launch the delivery service across 2 metro cities including Bangalore and Mumbai. As per company numbers, Ola currently receives around 10000 orders daily. Ola has now strategically opened ‘Ola stores’ across key locations in Mumbai and Bangalore.
The newly launched company will expand its presence to other cities and locations in the coming months as informed by company sources.The company claims to deliver groceries within just 10 minutes of ordering. Instant door-to-door service is available through the Ola app. With nearly 2000 available products to order from the Ola app and Ola store.
Ola ensures fresh products with premium quality with a high level of hygiene standards. Ola has allocated about Rs.250 crore budget to this new online grocery delivery venture.

Ola’s future plans include setting up of additional 300 Ola stores for fast and instant delivery of groceries by January 2022. With the existing 55 working cloud kitchens, Ola plans to increase the number of such cloud kitchens to 150-160 by January 2022.
As per Red Sear, online door delivery business is set to grow by 10-15 times over the next five years and reach a market size of $ 5 billion by 2025. With such promising returns and growth. Ola has definitely planned meticulously for this new venture in a new sector where technology has the main part to play. With new tech startups coming up that have a definite vision and seamless execution produce positives such as job creation, skill development & market growth which finally lead to overall sustainable economic development
