North Korea Food Crisis is escalating day by day. The situation in North Korea has deteriorated economically, with border closures, sanctions, and a series of disasters due to the covid-19 pandemic.

 Currently, the country is suffering from a food shortage. People have had to go starving without food for days. North Korean President Kim Jong Un has addressed the country regarding the current situation but his statements were really not what people thought they would be.

Instead of standing as a backbone to his subjects and taking steps to feed people the North Korean leader has urged the people to eat less until 2025.

Currently, North Korea does not have enough food to meet the demand and supply. Due to this, the food prices in the country are currently shot to the roof. Experts say food shortages are caused by natural disasters, lack of proper planning, and shortage of farm equipment.

Speaking on the occasion, Kim Jong Un said that the country’s agricultural sector is responsible for the food shortage in the country. He lamented that the country’s agricultural sector had completely failed to provide adequate food grains to the people.

He also added the issue has now become extremely tense. Last year’s typhoon, coronavirus epidemic, and heavy rains were the main causes of the North Korean food crisis.

During the meeting, Kim Jong Un met with party leaders to discuss food shortages. Kim suggested that the people of the country should consume less food for another three years, ie by 2025. North Korea is struggling with a food shortage of 8,60,000 tons.

Considering the situation between China and North Korea the trading deal between the countries could only get worst and the wrath of it is to be faced by the people.
