US President Joe Biden has made a clear statement regarding US forces in Afghanistan. It has been announced that all US forces will withdraw from Afghanistan by September 11.
The time has come for America to end its longest-running war. Biden addressed the nation on Wednesday. Biden made it clear that the war in Afghanistan would not last for generations. Deploying thousands of soldiers in a single country at the cost of billions of dollars a year is a meaningless act, Biden said.
He called on India, Russia, China, Pakistan, and Turkey to take further steps to bring peace to Afghanistan. He said the onus was on those countries to establish peace in Afghanistan.
Joe Biden spoke on TV from the Treaty Room in the White House. Earlier, he held talks with former presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush. The war in Afghanistan since 2001 has cost the United States millions of dollars and killed nearly 2,400 soldiers.
By the time Joe Biden took over the US presidency, there were about 3,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Biden announced that the withdrawal of troops would begin on May 1. ‘Our departure will be nothing like a rush. This withdrawal process will proceed as planned and safely. We will continue to work in coordination with allies and other allies who have more forces in Afghanistan than we do.

“Twenty years after the attack on the United States on September 11, 2001, the United States, NATO forces, and other allies are withdrawing from Afghanistan,” Joe Biden said.
After the speech, Biden went to Arlington National Cemetery to pay tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives in the Afghan war. He told the media there that he was “extremely clear” on the decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan.
China has expressed concern over the decision made by the US saying that the decision was likely to inflame terrorist forces. The U.S. has been incensed by comments that it needs to focus on threats from China. Experts believe that if US and NATO forces withdraw from Afghanistan, which is a source of concern for India, the region could once again become a safe haven for terrorist organizations. The Taliban are expected to become more active again, and the US decision could increase the terrorist threat to India
