What is the Iron Dome?

Usually, small-range rockets and mortars are used to destroy enemy bases at short distances. Enemies do not have enough time to deal with such things as the distance is short. The Iron Dome is a system that detects such dangers in advance and destroys them.

It was introduced in 2011 by Israeli Rafael Defence Systems with the help of the United States.

How it works

The entire system consists of radars, software, and rocket launcher batteries. As soon as the rocket launches into the Gaza Strip, the radar detects it and sends information about it to the software system.

Detects where the target rocket will land and sends a counterattack to destroy the rocket.

The rocket will not launch if the missile is likely to fall in a deserted area but If it is likely to fall on inhabited areas the system will launch a rocket and blow up the enemy rocket in a gallon.

The iron dome has a 90 percent success rate and has protected Israel so far.
