Pressure is mounting on Israel from the international community to stop attacks on Gaza but the Israeli army has stepped up airstrikes targeting Hamas leaders and bases in Gaza.

US diplomat Hady Amr met with representatives of the Palestinian Authority on Monday as part of peace talks. Russia, Egypt, Qatar, and other countries are working to persuade Israel and Hamas to a ceasefire.
The European Union has stated that its goal is to end the war. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken tweeted that he had spoken to United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan urging to stop violence in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza,
“The loss of life from this crisis is deeply saddening, and it is imperative to restore calm and end this conflict,” he said.
