G20 Leaders Pledging To Go Zero Carbon Emission By 2050

G-20 leaders have expressed concern over climate change, which is threatening the survival of life on Earth. It has been decided to bring the carbon emissions that causes global warming as well has climate change hence the G20 nations have come to a commitiment to erase carbon emission.

Despite trying to toughen rules the countries have failed miserabaly, but now the G20 nations are committed to bring carbon emission to zero by 2050.

The two-day G-20 summit in the Italian capital Rome ended on Sunday. Several key resolutions were adopted at the conference. A ‘Rome Declaration’ was issued explaining these resolutions.

Pollution is increasing exponentially as coal is burned and electricity is generated. To prevent this, loans for thermal power plants abroad should be discontinued. The construction of new projects should be discouraged. It should be implemented from the end of this year.

 China, Japan, South Korea, and other countries have already made similar resolutions. However, G-20 leaders have not set goals to reduce coal consumption in their own countries.

Rich countries should raise $ 100 billion every year, as previously agreed, to help poor countries suffering from climate change. In order to increase loan assistance to poor countries.

Everyone must adhere to the goal of carbon neutralization or ‘net’ zero ’emissions. By the middle of this century, that is, by 2050, this goal must be achieved.

Carbon neutralization is the balance between carbon emissions into the atmosphere and emissions from the atmosphere. This means that they must be removed from the atmosphere at the level at which the emissions are released.

They further thanked the Healthcare, Frontline workers, international organizations and scientists who have worked tirelessly to control the spread of the corona virus.
