The controversy that erupted in America has taken a new turn as Instagram is having a bad effect on teenage girls. People are having the soundproof of bullying and violence going on Instagram.
Facebook is the number one social media platform in the world. Popular social media platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram are run under the same company.
Facebook is constantly announcing that it is taking all possible measures to protect its customers despite many data leaks. It also claims to be taking measures on curbing and tracking down the misinformation posted on the platforms but nothing seems to be working out or is the company really taking the initiative to protect its customers.
A series of articles have recently been published in the non-American Wall Street Journal alleges that Instagram, which is run by Facebook under the umbrellas of false propaganda, is having a bad effect on teenage girls.
The Wall Street Journal reports that they have strong evidence that some teenage girls are thinking of committing suicide due to a lack of control over the content on Instagram. However, Facebook responded by saying that Instagram has no effect on teenagers and is very good for teenage users.
In fact, in all of the Wall Street Journal articles, Facebook has not responded to any news.

Frances Haugen, a woman who works as a manager in the anti-misinformation section of Facebook, was apparently the whistleblower. She kept her identity hidden for several months, but the Wall Street Journal revealed her identity.
Haugen was interviewed by a channel. She said that Facebook was trying to cover up its track instead of focusing on the good side. Facebook was not taking precautions to keep the customers safe instead they were leaning towards profit. Haugen made it clear that profits were important to the company, not customers’ safety.
Haugen is said to testify to congress this week against Facebook.
Frances Haugen has produced a comprehensive report titled ‘Protecting Kids Online’ to the Senate detailing the negative effects of Instagram on teenage girls. She is expected to present the report to members of the Senate on Tuesday. If the details in it are well-established, then it is certain that Facebook will get into trouble.
Facebook’s business style has been controversial in the past, even during the US presidential election. Twitter claimed that some of the comments made by former President Donald Trump were objectionable and removed the comments immediately and also suspended his account, but Facebook justified its acts and let the Former President run loose. Facebook has come under heavy criticism from the international community not only this issue, but various issues related to the user’s safety, security, and much more.
