Facebook taking serious measures to stop false information from spreading

Facebook on Monday said that more than 130 million fake accounts have been frozen between October and December 2020.

 Facebook spokesman Rosen said tough measures were and are being taken to curb the spread of false information.

He said that independent fact-checkers have been appointed to scrutinize the content in more than 60 languages.

If any information turns out to be untrue, misleading we will take immediate steps to prevent it from reaching people.

Facebook suspends accounts spreading false information

It was suggested for such misleading information post(s) a warning sign will be tagged and will be alerted accordingly to spread it further.

As 95% of users do not click on the information containing the warning tag.

Content that promotes Covid-19 vaccination, Facebook ads on any covid-19 related products like sanitizer, handwash, etc has also been completely removed with the related accounts being suspended.

Facebook also said they are making complete utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) for this.
