Ola Electric is preparing to bring its first electric scooter to market. The company has already started pre-bookings for the upcoming Electric Two-Wheeler through its official website.
Ola Electric Mobility is all set to launch that scooter in the next few weeks. It has already registered over one lakh bookings within 24 hours of opening pre-bookings.
The company earlier announced on its official website that bookings will start on July 15 for a total of 499 tokens.
So here are some interesting facts about Ola electric scooter before it is officially released.
- This is the first two-wheeler passenger vehicle from the Ola Electric Scooters Company. The Ola Future factory being built in Tamil Nadu is the largest facility for e-scooters in the world. Here Ola Electric produces its upcoming electric scooters.
- The company has promised to produce about 2 lakh units at total capacity every year in the mega factory being built on 500 acres at the cost of ₹ 2,400 crores.
- Ola is likely to offer electric scooters in two variants. According to the newly filed documents, it is possible that the scooters will be called the S series. The S1 and S1 Pro models are expected to be launched as part of this S series. The price of the S1 Pro is likely to be slightly higher compared to the price of the S1 model. It will also have more features.
- Ola electric scooters are based on the Etergo scooter. It runs on a high-powered battery. It has the capacity to run 240 kilometers on a single charge without bothering to recharge, according to the company.
- However, in real-world conditions,s the e-scooter may travel up to a distance of 150 kilometers on a single charge.
- Ola electric scooters are likely to be powered by electric motors with capacities ranging from 3kW to 6kW. It is expected to produce a maximum torque of about 50 nm. This electric two-wheeler has a top speed of 90 kilometers per hour.
- This scooter can charge the battery from 0 to 50% in just 18 minutes. It will take about 2 hours and 30 minutes to recharge fully. However, it can take up to five and a half hours for an electric two-wheeler to reach 0 to 100% if charged through a regular home charging point.
- Ola is likely to offer a home charger for its customers along with the electric scooter. It does not require any installation. Customers can charge their vehicle at home by plugging it into a regular wall socket.
- Ola Electric is also offering its customers smartphone connectivity on their scooters to monitor charging status in real-time using the Ola Electric app.
- Ola electric scooters have large-in-class boot space, app-based keyless access, dual projector headlamp, luggage carrying hook, split-type rear grab handles, single-piece seat, external charging port, LED DRL, tail light, black Color floor mat, fully digital instrument cluster available.

- Ola Electric installs ‘Hypercharger Network’ nationwide. There will be one lakh charging points in 400 cities under this network.
- In its first year, Ola is setting up 5000 charging points in 100 cities across India. This will help Ola electric scooter owners to have more accessible access to the charging infrastructure.
- Ola’s e-scooter is priced between 1.2 lakh and ₹ 1.4 lakh (ex-showroom price). It plans to deliver home delivery directly to customers who have booked the scooter. However, it has some tough competition with rivals such as the Aether 450X and TVS iQube.
