Elon Musk the billionaire entrepreneur with a view to change the world for good wanted to integrate with the satellite internet services in India. Despite having such a revolutionary concept, Elon Musk had to back down on his ambitious Starlink project in India. This stance of Elon Musk is for the reason that Starlink is not yet licensed in India.
On pre-orders, the Center has made it very clear that it will not allow SpaceX Starlink to accept any such pre-orders in the country without proper licensing. Complying with the center’s decision StarLink has decided to discontinue the booking orders of satellite-based internet services.
With the Starlink portal now updated that says “Thank you for your interest in ordering Starlink! Starlink services are not available in your area”. the statement from StarLink comes in line with the Center’s stance on Elon Musk’s ambitious project.
Currently, SpaceX StarLink has offered a beta version of its services over the internet as an introductory or trial version for $ 99 (Rs. 7,400) that is licensed in India, Indicating to Indians that they can apply for the beta version orders. Sanjay Bhargava, Starlink India Head stated that – as of now we have received 5,000 pre-orders.

For which the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) raised concerns and objections to Starlink’s services and offerings. In a strong statement, the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) made it clear to SpaceX that the regulator of such services must and should work in accordance with the framework and set procedures.
Adding to the statement DOT said- Approvals are crucial and mandatory and that a license must be applied for as soon as possible for early compliance. DOT has also advised not to pre-book or order Starlink Satellite Internet Services. With the current situation, StarLink has decided to discontinue its pre-booking facility thereby complying with the Center’s suggestions.
It also told SpaceX that the regulator must work in accordance with the framework, that DOT approvals are mandatory, and that a license must be applied for. It also advised people not to book Starlink. StarLink has discontinued its pre-booking facility after the Center suggested doing so.
