A solar storm is due to slam the Earth on Tuesday and Wednesday, weeks after a huge solar flare caused a blackout across the Atlantic. The high-speed solar wind stream is projected to hit Earth’s magnetic field as a geomagnetic storm, given the warning from weather forecasters.
The powerful solar storm in the universe is approaching Earth at a speed of 1.6 million kilometres per hour. The storm is likely to hit the ground today or tomorrow.
According to the Spaceweather.com website, hurricanes emanating from the Sun’s atmosphere are cantered on the Earth’s subsolar point, according to the US Space Weather Prediction Centre. People living at the North or South Pole will see a beautiful celestial light scene in the sky due to this solar storm. People living close to these areas have the opportunity to see the beautiful Aurora at night.
According to the US space agency NASA, the solar storm is moving towards the Earth at a speed of 1.6 million kilometres per hour. Yet as it comes, its speed will increase even more. NASA says these solar storms could disrupt satellite signals.
According to Space Weather, the Earth’s outer atmosphere is likely to get heavier due to solar storms. This is because temperatures have a direct effect on satellites. This could interfere with GPS navigation, mobile phone signal, and satellite TV services.
