The Covid-19 Delta variant (B.1.617.2) is India’s fastest-growing variant, which is now surpassing Britain. The number of people infected with this variant in that country is increasing day by day, according to Public Health England (PHE).
The latest PHE report states, the number of delta variant infections increased to 5,472 during the week. A total of 12,200 cases have been registered so far.
Officials in the UK are concerned that the Delta variant is going to surpass the existing alpha variant in Britain. This delta variant was first discovered in the Kent region of England.
According to official figures, 278 people were hospitalized with emergencies this week. All had tested positive for the Delta variant.

Last week, 201 people were admitted to the hospital for treatment. However, most of them have not been vaccinated. Britain is speeding up the process of vaccination as soon as possible.
Dr. Jenny Harries, chief executive of the UK Healthcare Agency, told the public- the variant is now spreading across Britain and that they pleaded for people to follow regulations and to take care of as much as possible.
However, if the virus goes haywire, there could be a loss of many lives. PHE has warned that the risk is higher with the Delta variant than with the Alpha variant. Authorities have been alerted based on a report provided by PHE.
A study in India has discovered that the delta variant is highly contagious and can spread rapidly. Delta strain has led to the fatal second COVID-19 wave in India. The country was not prepared for such a hard blow and was swept away by the strain.
The Delta covid-19 strain can infect people even after they are vaccinated. Such cases were not found in the Alpha variant until lately the UK’s Alpha strain was considered the dangerous strain in the world, but now the Delta strain has dominated all of the strains and is swiftly spreading across the globe.
The Delta variety is also believed to be more contagious than the Alpha. Britain Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned that the lockdown might be derailed in England until 21 June if people do not abide by the covid-19 regulations.
