Two doses of Covshield and Pfizer vaccines are 90% effective against the delta variant of the coronavirus, according to a recent study.
The results of a study by EAVE-II based on data from across Scotland were published in the New England Journal of Medicine on Thursday. The Universities of Edinburgh and Strathclyde, together with Public Health Scotland, analyzed data on 54 million people in Scotland between April 1 and September 27.
About 1,15,000 people were infected with the coronavirus during the vaccination season out of which 201 died. The Pfizer vaccine was found to be 90 percent effective and the Covshield 91 percent effective in saving victims’ lives.
The United Kingdom is facing a severe challenge in curbing the delta variant. 52,000 covid-19 cases are recorded per day in the UK and the Prime Minister of country Borris Johnson has expressed his concerns and is urging people to get their vaccination. Despite taking so many precautions and going into lockdown before any other country during the second wave Britain is facing a serious health crisis.

professor Aziz Sheikh, director of the University of Edinburgh’s Usher Institute, and EAVE II study lead said the vaccine is the only way to decrease chances of death most people who took the vaccine did not have the serious effect of the virus and arrived out of the hospital unharmed but people who were not vaccinated faced serious problems.
India has been a major exporter of vaccines. Millions of Covishield vaccines have gone to the UK, Europe, Canada, and various other countries.
Recently Poland has announced that it was exempting quartine for Covishield vaccinated people from India.
on 22 October India hit 100 billion total vaccinated people and Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people of the country on this occasion.
