Communist Party To Elect Jinping To Rule China Again

The meeting will last for four days. The first day was attended by 400 CPC Central Committee members. CPC Central Committee Secretary-General, Chinese President Xi Jinping presented a report on the performance of their government.

He introduced a draft resolution on behalf of the Political Bureau describing the achievements of the Communist Party over the centuries. China is due to elect a new president in 2022. Information that the CPC Plenary is being held in this context. Gu Soo, a political scientist at Nanjing University, said the plenum was being held to review the party’s centennial history and achievements and pave the way for future leadership. He spoke in support of the US Alliance but said that maintaining some independence was important.

The CPC Plenary usually discusses party affairs, key appointments, party ideologies, and party structure.

The 68-year-old President, Xi Jinping controls three important centers of power in China. He serves as CPC General Secretary, Chairman of the powerful Central Military Commission (CMC) (Supreme Commander of the Three Forces), and President of China.

His five-year term as president ends next year. He has already won the presidency twice in a row. During the last nine years of his rule, he became the most powerful leader after Mao Zedong.

It looks like he will continue as president for the third time in a row. It has been argued that Jinping is unlikely to hold the same position for the rest of his life. Jinping was named the “most crucial leader” in the Communist Party in 2016.
