Bollywood has given us many superhits but few remain in our hearts forever. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one such movie that has run through the strings of our emotions.
Kabir Khan Nostalgic About Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Bajrangi Bhaijaan directed by Kabir Khan, completed 5th year of its release this week. The director took to Instagram to thank all the fans of Bajrangi Bhaijaan who showered so much love for the movie and also shared some sweet moments from the making of this superhit piece.
He quoted on Instagram saying “A film that came from our hearts and will always be special for me because of the unprecedented love that you’ve showered upon Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Thank you for the continuing appreciation #5YearsOfBajrangiBhaijaan.”
He also shared another post of this movie that is still running in some of the theaters of Japan.
He recalled the memories from the making of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He said the idea of creating this movie rose with a phone call from a writer from the South. While he was framing the story, he was very much sure of Salman Khan playing the character of Pawan in the movie. What was difficult was the casting of Munni.
Hunt for Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s Munni
Munni was the central character and the movie entirely revolved around her. Mukesh Chhabra the casting director auditioned around 8000 children to find the perfect Munni. In one of his interviews, he said he wanted to break the objectification of realizing Jugal Hansraj from Masoom as the paragon child artist. He was looking for that magical child artist who can at least match up to the level of Hansraj. Finally, he found Harshaali Malhotra aka Munni for us. And we truly agree with Mukesh Chhabra no one could have played this character well than her. Her innocence, charm, sweetness, and most importantly her magical expressions, the emotions she delivered without even saying a word surely deserve all the praises.
Nawazzuddin in Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Another classic casting was of Chand Nawab, the Pakistani reporter played by Nawazzudin Siddiqui. He was salt to the exotic platter. His performance and the comic timing was so on point that it helped the movie to maintain its ease with the ongoing emotional tension.
Kareena Kapoor the lead heroine of the movie as Rasika, though she had a small part compared to Salman and Nawazzuddin, her presence was impactful and impressive as others. She brought the freshness and quirkiness to the film not just as the love interest of Pawan but also as the patron to him, who is intelligent, understanding, practical, and supportive. Kareena as Rasika has well justified her character.
These were the main characters of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, but there were other important characters too played by Bharat Saxena as Dayanand, Om Puri as As Molana Sb, Meher Vij as Shahida’s aka Munni’s mother, Atul Srivastava Pawan’s father, Alka Kaushal as Rasika’s mother, Rajesh Sharma as Pakistani officer all of them deserve applause for delivering this beautiful superhit movie.
