The Australian government has officially announced that it is recognizing the Bharat biotech manufactured coronavirus vaccine covaxin.
Australia, which has closed its borders due to the covid-19 pandemic is setting up rules to finally open its border for travelers.
For the first time after almost 20 months has Australia has decided to open the border for people from various countries.
In this context, the kangaroo country’s Therapeutics Goods Administration announced that it will consider the BBIBP-CorV vaccine from China, and covaxin from India to allow people into the country.
Australia said on Monday it would identify people over the age of 12 who had taken covaxin and those in the 18-60 age group who had taken BBIBP-CorV.

The TGA stated that it had received information in recent weeks illustrating that these vaccines provide protection and may reduce the possibility of an incoming traveler transmitting Covid-19 infection to others while in Australia or becoming acutely sick as a consequence of Covid-19.
The TGA stated that the supporting information for the two vaccines was provided to it by the vaccine sponsor or the World Health Organization (WHO).
India has so far administered 120 million covaxin doses and 942 million covishield doses.
The Oxford-AstraZeneca found a vaccine. Covishield is being produced in India has so far been approved by many countries and has been listed by the WHO too, but the approval of Covaxin is yet to come and the request has been submitted for Covaxin’s emergency use with WHO. According to sources the approval might be given on November 3rd.
Currently, people who have taken the covaxin jab aren’t permitted to travel and many countries have asked covaxin vaccinated people to get vaccinated again with a different covid-19 vaccine that is approved by WHO.
