In addition, the United Nations has chalked down a plan of action for massive donations to help overcome the crucial food and economic crisis. The United states have recently announced $ 308 million (over Rs 2,000 crore) in an immediate financial assistance effort.
A spokesman from the White House National Security Council said: As a result, US humanitarian assistance (since last October) has reached $ 782 million. On the contrary, 27 countries from all over the world have also stepped in to help Afghanistan.
In the recent past, more than 80 per cent of the Afghan budget was wholly funded by foreign funds. But with the arrival and brutal takeover of the Taliban, funding has been stopped and ceased completely from everywhere and all sources. Moreover, the financial accounts of the Afghans were also frozen.
In the wake of this situation, five months of Taliban rule have plunged the Afghan people and economy into a financial crisis. At one-time people were inclined towards a barter policy due to an extreme shortage of currency.
On the contrary, Food shortages and rising food prices have caused people to suffer a sharp 20 per cent rise.
While the current Taliban government is calling on all the countries worldwide, including the United States, to support this moment of aid, the response has clearly been overwhelming and positive.
