The United States had made the headlines for “mass shooting” again within 24 hours of the New York Times Square shooting.
An assailant opened fire at a birthday party in Colorado Springs. Killing six people and himself. No children were harmed in the situation.
The gunman is said to be one of the victims’ boyfriend who drove to the venue and started an open fire at the people present in the party and later shot himself to death.
Shortly after midnight, the Colorado Springs Police responded to a mobile home emergency call in which six adults were shot dead and one adult male seriously wounded, he was dashed into the hospital but unfortunately, he died while receiving treatment.
The motive behind the shooting is unknown.
According to the police, none of the children in the party were harmed in the attack. The victims have not been publicly identified.
A woman living in the mobile park said that she woke up at the sound of gunshots and thought it was a thunderstorm as the bullets were raining.
The “senseless act of violence” plunged the city into grief, said the mayor of Colorado Springs, John Suthers, and appealed for prayers for the victims, their families, and the first respondents.

The United States has become a dark place since last years, constant mass shootings in different parts of the country, racism against African-American’s, Asian-Americans have all gotten the US in shame.
43,000+ people have been killed in mass shootings since last year. The recent shooting in Atlanta on Asian-Americans and the Indiana FedEx shooting, yesterday’s New York shooting has sent tremors to the people living in the country and the country which was once a dream to most immigrants has now turned into a nightmare to live in.
