It is well known that the nations around the world are supporting India, fight the terrific Covid-19 wave.
The superpower nation the United States of America is also been helping India from the start.
The White House announced on Wednesday that it has provided over $ 500 million in aid to India so far in this regard. It said a decision on the distribution of 80 million vaccines to other countries would be made soon.
“To date, the US government has provided $ 500 million in aid to India, including US federal and state governments, American companies, organizations, and private individuals,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told a White House Foreign Press Group in a virtual press conference.

Gen Psaki said the Biden administration is now working to extend that assistance to other South Asian countries affected by the covid-19 pandemic.
“We’ve sent seven air shipments, including health supplies, oxygen, oxygen supplies, N95 masks, rapid diagnostic tests, and medications.”
“As part of this, we expect to provide 80 million vaccines. Of these, 60 million are AstraZeneca vaccines and the other three vaccines in 20 million doses. The government and the inter-agency are currently working on the process” responded Psaki.
The inter-agency team, involving Jake Sullivan, National Security Adviser, and the State Department, will be addressing how the US distributes and divides these vaccine doses.
